Rose of Nevada has a 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It is in limited theaters and almost nobody is talking about it.
Mark Jenkin shot it on a 16mm Bolex and built every sound in post. A fishing vessel lost at sea thirty years ago mysteriously returns to harbor in a remote village. What follows is part ghost story and part time puzzle. George MacKay and Callum Turner play the two men who join the returned ship. They are both very good.
If you have seen Bait or Enys Men, you know what Jenkin makes. This is the next one. If you have not, start here and go back.
Before this: Enys Men. Or The Wicker Man if you want the British folk horror tradition this comes from.
