Josh Boone directed The Fault in Our Stars in 2014. Eleven years later, he came back to the same territory with Regretting You, a Colleen Hoover adaptation.
Hoover's books became a massive phenomenon after going viral on BookTok. Regretting You is her 2019 novel about a mother and daughter rebuilding after a family secret tears them apart. Boone made it on a $25 million budget and it grossed $90.5 million worldwide.
He also brought back Nathaniel Walcott, who scored The Fault in Our Stars, to score this one.
