The Mandalorian and Grogu is still in theaters. It opened in May and has been running all summer.
Jeremy Allen White is in it. He plays Rotta the Hutt, Jabba's son. He got the part because he and director Jon Favreau bonded over both having played chefs on screen. Favreau made Chef in 2014. White runs the kitchen in The Bear. They met, they talked, and White ended up in a Star Wars movie.
This is also the first live-action Star Wars film with opening credits. The movie started as a planned fourth season of The Mandalorian, but the 2023 strikes changed that. Lucasfilm turned it into a feature instead.
Pedro Pascal leads. Sigourney Weaver plays a New Republic colonel. If you follow The Mandalorian series, this is the continuation. If you don't, it still works.
