Bradley Cooper didn't just write, direct, and star in Is This Thing On?. He operated the camera, joining IATSE Local 600 for the production. Matthew Libatique, his DP on A Star Is Born and Maestro, returned as cinematographer.
Will Arnett co-wrote the film and plays Alex Novak, a New York standup comedian in freefall after his marriage ends. Laura Dern plays his wife. Cooper appears as a character named Balls. Andra Day, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, and Peyton Manning are also in the cast.
Emily Blunt was originally set to star but dropped out due to a scheduling conflict.
It premiered at NYFF in October 2025 and opened in theaters via Searchlight that December. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a good one to find.
